I have a simple aim.
I have a deep fondness of all manner of music, but particularly of 'post-industrial' music. This is one of those frustratingly ambiguous turns of phrase which covers a lot of territory, which I am, with this blog, going to set out to explore.
That's a rather needlessly grand way of saying that I'm going to be doing reviews of strange music.
I'm going to start with the band who was the beginning for me: Death In June. Over the next few weeks, and months I imagine, I am going to be going through their work, in chronological order, and reviewing it. These 'reviews' are going to be biased, anecdotal, and self-reflective: but also, hopefully, both fun to read and maybe even a little insightful.
Don't expect me to go through their entire catalogue, as there is much to listen to, and not all of it is that great. I will most likely move onto another group or style of music after discussing what many people take to be Death In June's best album: 'But, What Ends When The Symbols Shatter?' But, that is still quite a while away.
Hopefully, as time goes on, I will spread my wings and discuss quite a wide variety of music, but it will most likely be of a similar spirit. There might not be any rhyme or reason to what I chose to discuss (and expect me to break my sombre character to gleefully muse on the up-coming Gamma Ray album this year), but it should all, I hope, be interesting, and we should have fun as it goes.
Until then: farewell.
